The need to diagnose rheumatic diseases at an early stage for better relief to a patient was stressed and the latest diagnostic techniques and advances in treatment of the diseases were discussed during a continuing medical education programme on rheumatology held here on Sunday.
Department of Medicine of Andhra Medical College and King George Hospital and the local chapter of Association of Physicians of India jointly organised the CME which was attended by post-graduate students of various departments of AMC and many practising physicians, dermatologists and orthopaedic surgeons. KGH Superintendent M. Madhusudhan Babu inaugurated it.
AMC Principal S.V. Kumar, secretary of CME S.N.R. Naveen, organising secretary A. Ramakrishna Naidu, president of the Indian Rheumatology Association and chief guest G. Narasimhulu spoke. Special lectures were given by Dr. Narasimhulu and other rheumatologists Liza Rajasekhar, V. Dasarath and I. Rajendra Vara Prasad, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Adimulam Suresh and others.
