CM urged to take decision on Bheemili merger

June 12, 2014 11:26 pm | Updated 11:26 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Former Mayor Rajana Ramani has urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to take a decision on continuing the merger of Bheemunipatnam in Visakhapatnam.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, she said the decision to merge Anakapalle and Bheemunipatnam had come into force and there was no problem with regard to Anakapalle.

However, for five villages between Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam elections were held recently.

With no contiguity between GVMC and Bheemunipatnam, there was no point in merging the municipality with GVMC, Ms. Ramani said.

She urged Mr. Naidu to take a decision before GVMC went to elections.
