There is a need to prepare a vision 2040 document for all-round development of Visakhapatnam and the efficiency of the administration, Mr. N. Yuvaraj, who has relinquished the charge of District Collector and is going to the Central Services in Delhi, said here on Tuesday.
Some efforts were made in the past to prepare a vision document for Visakhapatnam but they have not really taken off and this is time to resume the exercise and the people and all other stake holders must be involved, Mr. Yuvaraj said at a function organised by the Writers Academy to felicitate him. There was no growth without a vision, he said. He felt that good things must be repeatedly reminded to the people and children are made to read good books so that they think of creating a good society. His tenure as Collector of the district has been good and he was leaving with pleasant memories. People of Visakhapatnam were good and the officers he worked with were a very good and fantastic team and there was absolute coordination. He could resolve many issues though some could not be solved.
President of Writers Academy V.V. Ramana Murthy presided. Former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University V. Balamohan Das, senior journalists B. Prabhakkar Sharma and others spoke. They recalled how Mr. Yuvaraj had efficiently handled mega events like the International Fleet Review, CII Partnership Summit, the State function of Independence Day and the all-out efforts made in the post-Hudhud cyclone phase.
