Christmas cheer has made its way to the city even as the temperatures dip to the lowest, ushering in the festive season. Hotels are decked up with all the sparkles, trees and gingerbread houses. From LED Christmas trees to the tallest gingerbread house of the city, there’s something unique in every display.
At Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, the gingerbread house stands tall at seven feet high and has some yummy Christmas hampers on offer.
took us 15 days to make the gingerbread house. We have used coco bread for the décor and gingerbread for the entire structure with around 80 kg of dough,” said the hotel’s executive chef Abhishek Kukreti. This year, the Christmas hampers come with a Shiraz cabernet wine, cookies, chocolates and plum pudding and the hamper can also be customised.
Illuminated with LED lights, the Christmas tree and reindeer at The Park welcomes the guest at the portico. Here the gingerbread house is four feet high, but is stocked with a whole range of Christmas goodies that a few hotels in the city have.
Apart from the rich fruit cake, there is the red velvet cake, chocolate truffle gateau, Dundee cake, white forest gateau, blue berry gateau as part of the Christmas goodies. “Orders should be placed five to six hours before. Christmas celebrations have picked up pace this year in the city. We have received bulk orders too,” said Sadiq Rizvi, hotel’s food and beverage manager.
Apart from a well-lit and beautifully decorated eight feet high Christmas tree placed in the centre of the hotel lobby, Santa will soon step out of Fairfield by Marriott hotel to the neighbourhood with all the goodies. “For December 23, Santa Claus will visit the schools nearby and the neighbouring localities to celebrate and distribute cakes and goodies,” said the hotel’s head chef Rupeswara Rao.
