CITU seeks support for hartal

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has sought support from the people, particularly the working class and middle income groups, for the dawn-to-dusk hartal called by CPI (M), CPI and 11 other political parties on April 27 in protest against failure of the UPA Government to contain price-rise.

Addressing a press conference, CITU district president A. Ajay Sarma said that during the campaign, the people and various organisations were showing keen interest to respond to the call for hartal.
