With a view to encouraging the spirit of safe driving among the youth, CII Young Indians (Vizag Chapter) organised a roadshow.
The network of young entrepreneurs organised the roadshow on “Road Safety Measures” on Saturday from YMCA Beach Road to Kali Temple, which was flagged off by City Commissioner of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy. The participative event was organised by Chair Young Indians Vizag chapter Poonam Shah Srinath.
The roadshow was conducted to promote the use of helmets and to make it a habit, to make the college students aware of driving speed limits, to educate the students about dangers of footboard travelling in buses and also to encourage them not to participate in bike and car races.
Over 500 students from GVP College for Degree & PG Courses, Thandra Paparaya Institute of Science & Technology, GVP College of Engineering, Chaitanya Engineering College, Nightingale Engineering College, Noble Institute of Science & Technology, Gitam Institute of Management gathered on the Beach Road on the occasion.
The students of Yi Student Net organised streetplays on road safety and the potential traffic hazards. They also did a flash mob to attract the attention of the passersby.
The City Police Commissioner also addressed the students on Road Safety. Member Gayatri Vidya Parishad Educational Institutions P Rajaganapati also spoke. Apart from the students the members of the Yi Vizag Chapter were also present.
