This holiday, how about exploring the wildlife safaris, indulge in snorkelling, try scuba diving, trek through Sahyadri Mountains and experience the beauty of aqua life and explore the Buddhist caves in Maharashtra.

If you are an ardent traveller unable to decide where to go for in the next vacation, Holiday Expo at Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium has 40 stalls to help choose the perfect destination. There are 40 stalls from 10 States exhibiting packages, resorts and accommodation and six travel agents to assist you. From special students offer to Char Dham yatra to customised packages and fixed packages, the place has everything under one roof.

Exploring the stalls, one of the visitors Kishore Kumar said: “We often get confused whenever we plan for our annual holiday. The fair not only helps in knowing different destinations but also compare the deals offered by various agents.”

One can do advance booking at the travel agents paying a nominal amount. Most of the itinerary arrangements can be done online including the Deccan Odyssey, luxury train that costs anywhere between USD 3,000 to 6,000. A few tourist spots can be booked one week in advance while other places require one or two months prior booking.

Most of the visitors were checking out the details at stalls of Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Among the international destinations, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia are the most sought after holiday spots. The demand for holidaying has gone up in the city, vice-president of Holiday Expo Dilip Biswas said. “Five years ago we started off with just 15 stalls. Now, we have 40 participants turning up for the show. With the launch of the international flight Silk Air, connecting destinations has become easier than ever before from the city,” he added.

From destination promotion to international destination packages, airlines to car rentals, travel agents to holiday resorts, you name it; the place has every detail for an enthusiastic tourist. The three-day expo is open till Sunday between 11 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
