Chain polishing gang strikes at Gajuwaka

July 23, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:01 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The chain polishing gang struck again at Gajuwaka on Friday, after a brief hiatus.

A two-member gang approached an old couple and introduced themselves as metal polisher.

Initially, the couple gave them a few brass vessels to be polished and after polishing them, the duo asked the woman to give her mangalsutra for polishing. In the meantime, the daughter-in-law of the couple arrived and the duo asked for both the mangalsutras and asked the daughter-in-law to boil some water.

As the daughter-in-law had gone inside the kitchen to boil water, they escaped with the gold mangalsutras, despite the old lady who was sitting there raising an alarm, said DCP (Crime) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy.
