Several doctors, former students, friends and the staff who worked with him bid an affectionate farewell to noted cardiologist G.K. Sinha and his wife Uday Lakshmi at a function held at AMCOSA Hall here on Sunday.
Dr. Sinha, who was instrumental in setting up the Department of Cardiology at King George Hospital and Andhra Medical College and nurturing it to high standards, is shifting to Hyderabd soon.
During his 14-year stint at KGH and AMC and where he retired as Superintendent of KGH, Dr. Sinha was also responsible for starting super-speciality course of DM in cardiology while the Cardiology Department got equipped itself with modern gadgets a few decades ago.

Noted gynaecologist G.R.K. Raju, neurologist V. Satyanarayana, physicians K.V.G.K. Tilak and G. Chittipantulu, president of AMCOSA and former DME R. Sasiprabha and others recollected Dr. Sinha making house visits and occasionally took a cardiac patient in his own car to the ICCU.
Many nurses who worked with him were also present and they felicitated him with a shawl and bouquet.
