Divisional Railway Manager M.C. Mathur on Saturday underlined the need to change the attitude and thinking of employees and advised them to practise ethical values so as to achieve good governance and curb corruption. He made the observation at the valedictory of Vigilance Awareness Week organised by RINL at Ukkunagaram.Mr. Mathur said involvement and commitment of employees would help reduce corruption and enhance the values.
He said Railways had been maintaining good relations with RINL in its business environment and working towards eradicating corruption by implementing transparent procedures.
RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director P. Madhusudan said corruption adversely impacted society and it was a hindrance to the economic growth and called for constant practice of ethical values to curb the menace of corruption.
NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Station organised the valedictory function at Deepanjalinagar township near Parawada. Chief General Manager N.K. Sinha and CBI ASP S.N. Subrahmanyam in their speeches called upon employees to strive hard to weed out corruption. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions organised during the weeklong celebrations.
The valedictory by Visakhaptanam Port Trust was attended by ACB Director General R.P. Thakur, VPT Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu, Deputy Chairman P.L. Haranadh, Principal Commissioner of Central Tax B. Hareram, DCI CMD Rajesh Tripathy and VPT and DCI Chief Vigilance Officer V.V.S. Sreenivas. In his address, Mr. Thakur said happiness index of the nation was adversely impacted by corruption and exhorted all to take pride with honesty and committed to task assigned to them.
Mr. Krishna Babu said the desire of Central Vigilance Commission was to see India totally corruption-free by ensuring transparency in all works.
BHEL-Heavy Plates and Vessels Plant organised a lecture on self-realisation and individual integrity by Atma Prakash from Brahma Kumaris headquarters Mount Abu.
