BRICS energy efficiency meeting

A two-day working group meeting of members of BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency is getting underway on Monday.

In view of the focus of the State Government on energy efficiency and energy savings, the Union Power Ministry has decided to organise the meeting in the city on Monday and Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer, State Energy Efficiency Mission, A. Chandrasekhara Reddy, said in a statement here.

LED lighting

The Union Ministry plans to showcase the energy-efficient LED street lighting taken up in the city that has helped the civic authorities save money.

Further, the State Government has also taken up the energy efficiency campaign to the next level by distributing energy-efficient agricultural pumps and LED lights and energy-efficient fans to domestic consumers.

The heads of delegations of the Working Group on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency are expected to agree on a Work Plan on Development of Cooperation in Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency within BRICS.
