With the State government deciding to approve building plans online in urban development authorities, Vuda is gearing up to put in place the necessary process.

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has decided to take up the online process for Vuda and Tirupati Urban Development Authority (Tuda) to begin with. It will later be extended to the other UDAs.

The online plan approval process will be akin to the BPA approval in corporations and ULBs now.

Tentatively Vuda is expected to begin the process of online approval of building plans from August 20, it is reliably learnt.

The process will totally be based on approved layouts already uploaded and based on the size of the site, road widths and other dimensions and will automatically grant approval. It will do away with any manual interference and thereby the scope for corruption as it is software-driven and refuses approval at any stage where compliance is not made.

While limits for approvals have been prescribed for panchayats and municipalities in Vuda purview stretching over four districts, certain commercial proposals must come for approval directly to Vuda.

In the online process the file will go to the Vice-Chairman first and then to the respective zones for post-approval.

Verification

It will be incumbent upon the zone officials to verify the online application within two weeks for post-approval.

Presently, the testing of the process is going on. The payment gateways for apportioning fee to Vuda and to panchayats and municipalities have to be finalised so that each gets the amount due to it, say sources.
