Boys sweep top ICET ranks

Kakinada student tops the list with 163 marks. Of the 24,072 girls appeared for the test 21,219 qualified, taking the pass percentage to a healthy 88.15 per cent.

While Kodali Bhargav of Kakinada topped the AP ICET-2015 with 163 marks, Prashanth Yella of Visakhapatnam secured the second spot with 160 marks.

Releasing the AP ICET results on Tuesday at Andhra University, Anakapalle MP M. Srinivasa Rao said 78,755 students had applied for the examination, 72,195 had appeared the test and of them 63,768 students qualified.

Of the 24,072 girls appeared for the test 21,219 qualified, taking the pass percentage to a healthy 88.15 per cent.

However, there was only one girl student, J. Rushika Kumari Jain Hundiya of Nellore, who secured the fifth rank with a score of 155 marks, among top 10 candidates.

AP ICET, test for admission into MBA and MCA courses, was conducted by Andhra University for the first time after the State was bifurcated. It was held on May 16, across 136 centres in the State.

According to Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University G.S.N. Raju, there are 221 colleges in the 13 districts of AP that offer MCA and the number of seats available was 15,850.

In the case of MBA there are 407 colleges with 40,360 seats.

Convenor of APICET and Principal of Andhra University College of Engineering, Ch. V. Ramachandra Murthy said rank cards will be available for download from May 28 from the websites:www.apicet15.orgorwww.apsche.orgorwww.andhrauniversity.edu. inby entering the hall ticket number and date of birth or hall ticket number and register number.

The other top 10 rankers were B. Raghvendra of Nellore (3rd), Busam Anand of Machilipatnam(4th), Yalavala VK Shanmukh Kumar of Hyderabad (6th); Naru Venkata Rami Reddy of Kadapa (7th), Dandasi Sreevatsav, Srikakulam (8th), G. Prashanth Kumar Reddy of Kurnool, (9th); and Venkata Chaitanya Nandigam of Hyderabad (10th).

AU Registrar V. Uma Maheshwara Rao, Rector E.A. Narayana and Vice-Chairman of AP State Council for Higher Education P. Vijay Prakash, were present.
