BJP Dalit Morcha and other organisations on Thursday celebrated the election of Ram Nath Kovind as the 14th President of India at the Ambedkar statue near LIC Junction.

A number of the Dalit Morcha workers participated and youth dominated participating in a big way beating drums and dancing. Tributes were paid to Dr. B R Ambedkar by garlanding his statue. Addressing them, BJP city president M. Nagendra said his election was a testimony to the party recognising merit and efficiency.

Dalit Morcha president Ch. Rambabu, president of Minority Morcha Jilani, minority leader Albert, Prudhviraj, Narendra Prakash and Ratna Kumari were among those who participated.

In a statement, State SC Morcah vice-president V J Ajay Kumar said BJP honoured all the Dalits by making a Dalit the President.
