Bangla team impressed with DCI’s expertise

A team from Bangladesh led by MP Talukdar Abdul Khaleque, Commodore A.K.M. Faruque Hassan, Chairman, Mongla Port Authority and others visited the corporate office of Dredging Corporation of India here on Friday.

DCI as recently taken up capital dredging in Pussur Channel from Mongla Port to Rampal Power Plant in Bangladesh by winning the contract through a global tender. The pre-survey for the work has been completed and the dredger has arrived at the port and is being assembled.

Prior to visiting DCI, the Bangladesh MP along with Mongla Port Authority officials visited the DCI Dredger at Haldia to have first-hand assessment of the dredging work. DCI CMD Rajesh Tripathi and his team gave a brief presentation of the working of DCI.

The visiting officials were very much impressed with the expertise of DCI and informed that Bangladesh would offer ample opportunities to DCI. DCI had a logistic advantage to give competitive rates, a company official said.

The Bangladesh team said DCI would certainly cater to the different dredging requirements of his country. The meeting was attended by senior officials of DCI and Ministry of Shipping, Bangladesh and Mongla Port.
