Passengers who arrived by various trains at the railway station here bore the brunt of the two-day autorickshaw bandh, which began on Friday and seems to have been self-imposed by the auto drivers.

Men, women and children were seen carrying bags, suitcases and belongings as they waited endlessly for autos to reach their homes. RTC buses are already off the roads for more than three weeks now and after reaching here the auto strike compounded their woes.

Some women were seen making calls from their mobile phones to the near and dear ones to come and pick them up while others trekked down the road along with their luggage.

A few auto drivers who ventured to make a quick buck were booed by other drivers.

Some of them were seen removing the air from the tyres while others entered into arguments.

Mixed response

Meanwhile, there was a mixed response to the trade bandh call given by the Vizag Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

While some shops downed their shutters, others functioned normally.
