The East Coast Railway Shramik Congress received a written assurance from the East Coast Railway administration to open the reservation counters from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. only, by bringing back the shift timing for reservation staff from seven hours to six hours.

Divisional coordinator and additional joint general secretary of the ECRSC V.J. Ajay Kumar informed in a press release on Monday that the agreement was reached following talks held between the union's general secretary R.C. Sahu and ECoR administration in Bhubaneswar. The agreement would be implemented in phases within six weeks.

The ECRSC demanded the railway administration to bring back the working hours of the staff to six hours as the employees were overburdened after the shift timing was extended to seven hours more than three years ago. Mr. Ajay Kumar, along with union's president K.S. Murthy and others celebrated the agreement with the reservation staff here.
