Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana on Monday asked the horticulture officials to arrange 200 plants at the rate of four between every two electric poles to beautify the Asilmetta flyover from Vemana Mandiram to DRM office.

Per capita tax

At a meeting with zone commissioner and officials of the revenue wing, the Commissioner said the per capita property tax of GVMC was Rs.944, much less compared to that of Hyderabad’s Rs.1,100.

To increase the property tax realisation, focus should shift to taking up cases and getting the Rs.139 crore categorised as ‘uncollectible.’ While it should be taken up in April, a comprehensive plan to increase the revenue due to the corporation should be prepared in the next two months, he told officials.

Additional Commissioner (Finance) S.S. Varma said pro forma in improving revenue were handed over to zone commissioners and the data should be provided in the given time. Deputy Commissioner (revenue) P.M. Satyaveni was among those present.
