Appointed as honorary professor

Sushil Mittal was appointed as Honorary Professor in GITAM University on Saturday.

He is a professor of Religion in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and Founder Director of the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Global Non-violence at James Madison University. He has served on the faculties of the University of Florida in Gainesville and Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and conducted archival and field research in Canada, India, South Africa and US during the past two decades.

He is the author of several publications including Development and Change in India, Surprising Bedfellows, Hindus and Muslims in Medieval and Early Modern India, The Hindu World and Studying Hinduism: key concepts and methods.

GITAM University Vice-Chancellor Prof. M.S.Prasada Rao felicitated Prof. Mittal during the installation function.
