APEPDCL detects 21 power theft cases

The Detection of Pilferage of Energy (DPE) wing of Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL), inspected its service connections in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and East Godavari, and detected 21 theft cases and 106 other pilferage cases. The department also slapped Rs. 25.77 lakh as fine on defaulters.

The DPE squad inspected about 778 service connections. According to the Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL, M.V. Seshagiri Babu, people can call up 94408 12809 for complaints on alleged pilferage or thefts.
