APATA’s plea to Ashok

Members of AP Air Travellers Association (APATA) met Union Minister of Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Tuesday and sought his intervention in improving air connectivity to AP and better passenger amenities at Visakhapatnam airport besides provision of more flights from Vizag and other airports.

APATA president Y. Sivasagara Rao and its working president Cheruvu Ramakotaiah brought to the notice of the Union Minister the problems at Vizag Airport. The Minister said he would discuss the issues at the aviation meeting to be held in Vijayawada in March and strive to solve the problems.The APATA team also met Airport Director G. Prakash Reddy and sought his intervention in the promotion of night parking facilities to facilitate late night arrivals and early morning departures from Vizag to various destinations.

The Airport Director told the team that two wash rooms have been renovated and the remaining would be completed by March 31. APATA secretary K. Rama Rao and members D.S. Varma, Kumar Raju and Pallam Raju were present.
