Anti-graft campaign at sub-registrar offices

The Registration Department has launched a campaign at all the sub-registrar offices in the zone to improve transparency and put an end to corrupt practices.

According to DIG, Stamps and Registration, T Saroja, at all the 19 offices in the zone banners have been set up asking people not to pay a single rupee more than the stipulated fee and not to contact brokers or middlemen.

Details of fee payable may be known from the tables displayed at the SROs or from the website.

She said her phone number and that of the Registrar were also displayed on the boards for contacting, if necessary. She said the staff also took a vow to wear khadi, till their retirement, on every Monday to support weavers.
