VUDA will organise a property show, the first of its kind by the urban development authority, on the third floor of its office at Siripuram from Saturday. The show will be open between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. up to June 16.
Giving details at a press conference here on Friday, VUDA Vice-Chairman N. Yuvaraj said disposal of the plots would be taken up in July/August. Allotment in all new layouts to be developed, including those at Cheropali Khandam and Dakamarri, would be on the basis of lottery, he said.
More than 200 vacant plots in 21 layouts of VUDA developed earlier, the row housing project near Rushikonda and 11 flats in the Harita housing project — in which money was refunded to allottees — will be part of the show. Also, the plots earmarked for economically weaker sections and allotment process would be displayed. Details of plots developed or disposed earlier will also be made available.
Pricing mechanism
A pricing mechanism is being worked out. A committee of department heads and Andhra University finance officer Samrajyalakshmi are going into details like earlier price, registration value, average sale value, and whether plots are on government land or private land, on the basis of which the price would be fixed. However, if the earlier allotment in a layout was made by auction, it would be continued. It would be in keeping with the process of allotment of natural resources as per the direction of the Supreme Court, he pointed out. Answering questions on why a property show was being held, he said no plots were allotted for nearly two years following controversies. “Now everything is being made public and if anything is wrong people can get back to me,” he said.
Harita work
On the resumption of the work on the Harita housing project at Endada, he said work tenders have been approved for three packages by the Committee of Tenders and that work orders will be given soon. For the remaining seven packages, only single tenders have been received and the process would be taken up again.
