The 17 e-seva counters in the city now have 70 counters. Besides 10 at the GVMC main office, four at Gajuwaka, one each at Pendurti and Madhurawada are available.

More counters will be opened to enable people to pay property tax on the last two days of the financial year.

At the GVMC main office in addition to the present five counters, five more will be opened, besides two enquiry counters. At Gajuwaka, besides the present two, two more will function. The counters will work till midnight on Saturday to enable payment till the last minute, according to Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu.

Property tax collection picked up after the government announced waiver of interest on arrears as well as current dues.

The tax may also be remitted at the IDBI Bank and ING Vysya Bank at Siripuram, ICICI Bank at Dwarakanagar and Axis Bank at Ramnagar.

Record collection

On Thursday, a record Rs. 4.4 crore was realised towards property tax, according to Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) M. Viswanadham. Against a demand of Rs.181.29 crore till Wednesday Rs.120.24 crore was realised.

If cheques and drafts are remitted through the revenue staff, they should be credited in time. Recalling that cheques bounced last year, he said action would be taken for bouncing of cheques.
