April 06, 2014 11:46 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 09:04 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Taking a serious view of 220 polling personnel not attending Sunday’s ZPTC and MPTC election duty, Collector S. Solomon Arokia Raj said action will be taken against them.

Following his instructions the ZP Chief Executive Officer submitted a report on those who absented themselves from the duty in the first phase listing 220 personnel. They included presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and other polling personnel.

The Collector said departmental action will be taken as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission to prevent recurrence of employees not attending election duties.
