Accident victim gives new lease of life to five

His family members give consent to cadaver donation

A 25-year-old man gave a new lease of life to five patients, when his family members donated his organs, after he was declared brain dead by the doctors at Pinnacle Hospitals here.

N. Suresh, autorickshaw driver, met with a road accident when he going on a motorcycle on March 29 and sustained severe head injuries. He was admitted to Pinnacle Hospitals at the Health City at Arilova. He was declared ‘brain dead’ by a medical team, based on the scanning and medical reports, on Thursday.

A team from Jeevandan counselled the family members on the importance of organ donation and the latter consented to donate Suresh’s kidneys, liver, heart and lungs.
