‘A patriot son of India’

Describing former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as a patriot son of India, a number of prominent persons in the city condoled his passing away.

Panchayati Raj Minister Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu described him as a great patriot. State president of BJP and Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu condoled the demise of the former President. Party’s city president P.V. Narayana Rao said that Dr. Kalam’s demise was an irreparable loss to the Nation.

Anakapalle MP Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao described Dr. Kalam as a great soul and a great patriot. His passing away was a great loss to the country, he added.

President of Visakhapatnam Bar Association J. Pridhiraj said that in the death of the former President, the country had lost a great patriot and son of the soil. State president of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations S.G. Chalam said India had lost a great visionary, academician, scientist par excellence, and a great statesman.

President of Forum of Legal Professionals Kuppili Muralidhar said the void created by Dr. Abdul Kalam’s demise was difficult to fill.

AU holiday

Andhra University will be closed on Tuesday as a mark of respect to the former President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who died of cardiac arrest in Shillong, according to Registrar V.Uma Maheswara Rao.

Prof. Uma Maheswara Rao, in a statement, condoled and expressed shock at the sudden demise of Dr. Abdul Kalam.

Prof. Rao described Dr. Kalam as one of the greatest and popular Presidents.
