VISAKHAPATNAM: Poor visibility due to fog at the Visakhapatnam Airport led to delay in the arrival and departures of five flights on Tuesday.

The five flights were scheduled to arrive from various destinations by 8.30 a.m.

“The 66 E 608 IndiGo Vizag – Hyderabad flight, which was scheduled to take off from Visakhapatnam at 8.05 a.m., was rescheduled and it took off at 11.10 a.m.,” a passenger from the city said.

“Visibility at the airport early in the morning was less than 100 metres. It improved after 8.30 a.m. The other flights, whose landing and take off was delayed, were those of the IndiGo coming from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Chennai. All the flights landed and took off after visibility improved,” Airport director Vinod Sharma told The Hindu .

The first flight to land on Tuesday was AI 952 of Air India from Dubai to Vizag. It landed at 9.40 a.m. as against its scheduled arrival of 8 a.m.
