50,000 ration cards to be disbursed during ‘Janmabhoomi’

Of the 1.43 lakh new ration cards to be issued for the district, 50,000 will be issued during the ongoing “Janmabhoomi” programme and in addition to the 3.24 lakh welfare pensions, 30,000 more will be sanctioned, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.

Inaugurating the fourth round of people-contact programme Janmabhoomi, he said the Visakhapatnam South constituency would be developed in a planned manner and the expansion of main road would be taken up soon.

Seeking the co-operation of all concerned to improve the stadium, the MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar said an estimated Rs.13.75 crore was required for refurbishing it.

MP K. Haribabu said with the Chief Minister laying foundation stone to the Purushottapatnam lift on Jan. 5 and firm on completing it in a year water problems in the district and the city would be resolved.

Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan said the 1.98 lakh members of self-help groups in the city eligible for loan waiver would get Rs.59.4 crore.
