700 gm gold, Rs.1.5 lakh stolen in Kancharapalem

Around 700 gm of gold ornaments and Rs.1.5 lakh was stolen in a burglary at Kancharapalem on Friday.

D. Satyanarayana, a Railway employee, is living with his wife and three children at Jashuva Nagar. His wife is an employee of Visakhapatnam Port. On Friday, Satynarayana and his wife left for work, while their children went to school after locking the house.

His daughter was shocked to find the house ransacked when she returned home from school in the evening. The burglars stole gold ornaments and cash from the almirah. Kancharapalem Police registered a case and are investigating.

Gamblers arrested The City Task Force (CTF) police conducted a raid at an apartment at Maddilapalem on Friday and apprehended seven persons on the charge of gambling by playing cards.

The raid was conducted by CTF Inspector Tirupathi Rao and his team.
