In tune with the old adage ‘charity begins at home’, the City Traffic Police have taken up ‘enforcement at home’ by booking cases against 53 policemen for not wearing helmet, in the last two days.

This was part of the unique special drive taken up by the traffic police and the 53 policemen include home guards and constables.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) M Ramesh Kumar, the special drive was conducted on May 16 and 17 in the city and cases have been booked on 53 policemen driving in uniform without helmet. We have imposed fines and booked cases, he said.
