Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has issued approvals to another 500 applications under the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS), duly completing the process of thorough scrutiny and field inspections.
VUDA Vice-Chairman Kona Sasidhar on Friday handed over the approval documents to the applicants at the LRS special drive conducted at VUDA Office here.
Assuring disposal of all applications received under the LRS, he cautioned the people against buying plots in unauthorised layouts.
Prospective buyers should insist on Layout Plan (LP) and other statutory requirements instead of being carried away by promises. On its part, VUDA was initiating stringent action against all the layouts coming up without proper permissions, he said. Asking the applicants not to make repeated trips to VUDA office, Mr. Sasidhar said VUDA had taken up disposal of all applications as a priority. However, verification of land ownership, laying of approach roads and internal roads, and other features have to be inspected thoroughly, which might lead to delay in a few complicated applications, he said.
VUDA Chief Urban Planner R.J. Vidyullatha, Chief Engineer I. Viswanadha Rao, Estate officer B. Bhavani Das, and DFO B.V.A. Krishna Murthy were present. The LRS was announced by the State government in January 2008 and extended from time to time.
VUDA received 19,400 applications from its jurisdiction and till April 2010 only 400 approvals were issued. Soon after assuming charge, Mr. Sasidhar had taken the initiative.
