A 16-day narration of various episodes of the Mahabharata in the traditional ‘Harikatha’ style is being organised here from Saturday.
For the next fortnight, the foremost exponent of the traditional craft, Kota Sathidaananda Sastry, would narrate the Mahabharata accompanied by M. Ramagopal of Tirupati on the violin and Padaala Raamdaas of Hyderabad on the mrudangam.
The programme is being organised at Sri Krishna Vidya Mandir in Dwarkanagar by the Visakha Music Academy in association with Sri Vijaya Thyagaraaja Sangeeta Sabha, according to a statement issued by VMA secretary M. Srinivas.
The programme would begin every day at 6.30 p.m. and go on till May 25.
