120 hospitalised in Visakhapatnam after consuming contaminated food

About 120 people of Marrivalasa, Pathavalasa and Srungavaram villages under K. Kotapadu Police Station limits, were taken ill and were hospitalised on Sunday night, after they consumed non-vegetarian food at a function at Marrivalasa Visakhapatnam district.

According to the police about 2,000 people from the three villages attended a lunch hosted by Ramanaidu of Marrivalasa village and about 120 reportedly fell sick by night after complained of vomiting, motion and stomach pain.

All of them were moved to Marrivalasa and K. Kotapadu public health centre.

According to Chodavaram Circle Inspector B. Murali, all of them were discharged after treatment by Monday morning and were said to be out of danger.

DMHO J Sarojini and MLA of V Madugula B Mutyala Naidu, visited the spot.
