Supporters of YSR Congress Party on Thursday blocked the movement of vehicles at Budampadu bypass road in protest against the bifurcation of the State.

Led by city convener Lella Appireddy, the protestors staged a sit-in on the National Highway. They later had meals on the road before police stepped in and forcibly evicted them.

Addressing the partymen, Mr. Reddy blamed the Congress for going ahead with the bifurcation of the State without addressing core issues. He said that Congress has been bent on securing votes and seats for its party men without caring for the interests of the State. He also warned that both the Congress and Telugu Desam Party would pay a price for their deeds.

Party leaders Showkath, Nasser Ahmed were among those participated in the protest.
