YSRC leader lashes out at Congress

In a no holds barred attack on the Congress, YSR Congress Party political advisor D.A. Somayajulu alleged that the Congress was playing a dangerous political game in the country with the help of the county’s premier investigating agency CBI.

He was here on Sunday to address the one-day meeting cum training programme for the party’s booth committee convenors and co-conveners from the Vijayawada Central constituency.

Pointing out the alleged highhandedness of the CBI he said, “In its first charge sheet against Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy they framed a case for Rs.1 lakh crore under the disproportionate assets and after investigating the case for over a year, now they have scaled down the figure to Rs.43,000 crore in the fifth charge sheet. From where and under what basis did they get the initial figure?” He also said it was shameful that the CBI raided Y.S. Jagan’s house 28 times and the phones of the MP and his family members were tapped for over two years.

“Why can’t they do the same for investigating the allegations against the Congress leading family,” he questioned.

Mr. Somayajulu also highlighted the various populist schemes that were floated by former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The then CM never went to the Central government with a begging bowl. “He always went with a clear plan and that was why the Centre was never able to turn down his requests.” A lot of planning had gone into the schemes such as fee reimbursement, Aarogyasri or for that matter any other scheme for the farmers. The meeting was attended by over 500 booth committee convenors.

Mr. Somayajulu urged the participants to visit every house in the constituency and get acquainted with the residents. “This is the only way to get closer to the people,” he said.

Party Vijayawada City Central in-charge P. Gowtham Reddy and former corporators Y. Srinivas, S. Ramalinga Murthy, A. Suneeta and Jana Reddy were also present.
