Krishna district leaders of the YSR Congress Party are planning to stage massive protests for two days from Monday against what they call "íllegal detention" of their party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for the last one year.

Party’s membership enrolment in charge and district co-ordinator for the proposed agitations Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, on Sunday, called upon the party cadre to make the protest programmes a grand success. Addressing a meeting of the party’s constituency-level coordinators and convenors of the affiliated bodies, Mr. Reddy said that candlelight rallies would be taken out in all constituencies, protesting against the ‘unlawful imprisonment’ of their leader.

On May 28, a massive sit-in would be staged in front of the Collectorate at Machilipatnam, he said, adding that views and suggestions of the party coordinators had been taken into consideration while planning the protest programmes.
