Work for total literacy, says MLC Chigurupati

Every educated family must sponsor one poor child in academics, Graduates MLC Chigurupati Varaprasad has said.

He called upon Rotary Club members to work towards achieving total literacy in Krishna district.

At the installation function of the new office-bearers of Rotary Club of Vijayawada Sree Durga here on Thursday, Mr. Varaprasad said people in Krishna and Guntur districts had given quality education to students through the best of educational institutions.

New president Pinnamaneni Rajani, secretary Guthikonda Vijaya Saradhi assumed office for 2011-12 along with their team members.

Club's out-going president Ch Venkateswara Rao was present. He complimented the Rotarians for their work to eradicate polio.

Rotary 3020 district past governor K. Pattabhi Ramaiah, who administered the oath of office to the new office-bearers, said the Rotary had done its best in combating polio.
