Vote for ‘Telugu pride’: Jagan

May 05, 2014 12:25 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:50 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

“Chandrababu Naidu is seeking votes in favour of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, but I am asking you to cast vote for Telugu pride and future,” YSRC chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy said here. He was addressing a meeting at Singh Nagar on Sunday evening after his whirlwind tour covering West Godavari, Nellore and Prakasam districts.

Continuing his tirade against the BJP-TDP alliance, Mr. Reddy said it was time to elect good leaders. “Do we need leaders who can pressurise the Centre and get projects executed for the development of Seemandhra or politicians like Chandrababu Naidu who succumb to the Centre’s pressure?” Jagan asked.

He also asked voters not to fall prey to the false promises made by the TDP president.

“Vijayawada is the second biggest city and a commercial hub in the Seemandhra region, but there are many pending projects like Gunadala, retaining the wall on Krishna and taking steps to address Budameru flooding,” Jagan said.
