Even as the Krishna district administration is gearing up for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu slated for on June 8,

Civic officials have taken up road repair works in the city on priority basis.

On Monday, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) authorities had taken up patch works on the C.K.Reddy road in Purnanandampeta. Likewise, the authorities have identified different stretches in the city, which need a facelift.

Routine exercise

However, a senior official of the VMC said that it was a routine exercise and had nothing to do with the Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony. “All these road repair works were being taken up with an estimated cost of Rs.5 crore. But, these were pending due to the elections notifications,” he said.
