UK firm eyes transport sector in Amaravati

Roughton International, a United Kingdom-based firm specialising in transport and infrastructure sectors, has evinced interest in the transport sector in the new capital Amaravati.

A delegation from Roughton International comprising directors Stephen Kinnett and Inderjeet Singh and vice-president Krishna Venkata Adavi called on Capital Region Development Authority Additional Commissioner V. Prasanna Venkatesh here on Friday. Dr. Kinnett said Roughton was monitoring closely the developments at Amaravati, proposed to be constructed as a world class city.

Mr. Krishna Venkata Adavi said Roughton was an established name in the transport and infrastructure sectors for over 65 years and had substantial experience in South Asia including India. The company had also taken up a number of projects in the region.

He said Roughton had commenced operations in India at Jaipur and shifted to Hyderabad. It had taken up consultancy services in Andhra Pradesh for preparation of detailed project reports for the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor connectivity project packages I and II.
