Two youngsters -- M. Mohan Rao (20) and K. Krishna (18) -- of Prasadampadu village on the city outskirts, drowned in Krishna River at Pedda Pulipaka village in Krishna district on Sunday.
According to sources, nine youngsters went for a swim in the river in the afternoon. While Krishna drowned, Mohan Rao also met a watery grave while trying to save his friend. Fire personnel and police were searching for the bodies with the help of expert swimmers.
