: The offices of two departments — Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Vigilance & Enforcement (V&E) – were inaugurated at the Interim Secretariat Complex (ISC) at Velagapudi in Guntur district on Thursday.

It was the second phase of shifting of the Secretariat departments from Hyderabad to the ISC. The above offices are situated in the first floor of Block 5. Employees have come from Hyderabad and occupied the offices.

Transport and R&B Minister Sidda Raghava Rao inaugurated the R&B office and Vigilance Commissioner S.V. Prasad opened the V&E office. Employees of the departments were to shift to ISC on July 6 but it was postponed to July 13 and again to July 21 as the construction works were incomplete. The government had initially set June 15 as the deadline for shifting of the Secretariat Departments but gave them time till the end of August as the ISC construction is still in progress.

Inaugurating the R&B office, Mr. Raghava Rao said it had been the endeavour of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that the government should function from Amaravati and the employees responded to his call.
