In a bid to promote the usage of eco-friendly Ganeshas in the upcoming 'Vinayaka Chaviti' festival, the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) is teaming up with Pollution Control Board (PCB) to clean Vinayaka Sagar, filled with debris, planktons and other flora.
Mr. Yadav directed the municipal officials and others to take up the cleaning and complete all the works by August 20, including other necessary arrangements such as lighting, cultural programmes, floats, barricades, and medical services.
As a permanent solution to prevent pollution in Vinayaka Sagar, TUDA will soon be implementing the plant-based purification system in the second week of August. He said they, along with the police department, would be charting out a route map along five roads, all leading to the immersion tank, to facilitate easier movement of vehicles.
MCT Commissioner Ch. Hari Kiran, Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Mahotsava Committee Convenor Samanchi Srinivas and were present.
