Three outsiders caught in temple room

April 09, 2010 05:45 pm | Updated 05:45 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Executive Officer of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devasthanam N. Vijaya Kumar on Thursday reportedly caught three outsiders in the room in which the sarees offered to goddess Kanakadurga by the devotees are stored.

According to the sources in the Devasthanam, the Executive Officer made a surprise visit to the warehouse located near Malleswaraswamy temple.

It was latched from inside when the officer made the surprise visit.

Since there was no response from inside the room, the temple staff took the help of the police and tried to break open the door.

In the meanwhile the doors were opened and three persons who were not connected with the temple were found.

It was learnt that the miscreants were on the job of changing the labels of sarees being offered to the goddess, so that the traders they were hand in glove with could buy them at a nominal price during auction.

However, no case was booked against the miscreants and the Executive Officer was not available for comment.
