Mumbai photographer Samir Madhukar Mohite bagged the ‘Over All Best Entrant Award-2017’ in the IIPC 6th All India Digital Salon-2017. The awards were presented to winners from various States by India International Photographic Council (IIPC), Chairman Emeritus O.P. Sharma in the awards ceremony held here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma recalled his association with the city and said that he has once bagged an award in the competition held in Vijayawada.

The awards were given in five digital photography categories including Monochrome, Photo Journalism, Color Open, Photo Travel and Nature.

The Hindu photographer V. Raju bagged the best image award and certificate of merit in the Photo Journalism and Color Open categories respectively.

Other winners include S.V. Arun Kumar, S. Allabakshu and Supriya Dey in Monochrome, R.V.K. Rao, P. Ravindra Babu and V. Ruben Besalial in Photo Journalism, A. Ramachandra Rao, Sk. A. Sharief and M.V. Seetaramaiah in Color Open, Amal Krishna Das, K. Saraswati Rao and S. Allabakshu in Photo Travel and Chava Sampath Kumar, Chandan D. Naik and K. Saraswati Rao in Nature.

Also, VKRS Sharma, Astro Mohan, Kola Venkateswarlu bagged the best image awards in different categories.

IIPC general secretary Aseem Sharma, salon chairman T. Srinivasa Reddy and others were present at the awards ceremony.
