The Hindu Environment Day event today

The Hindu, in association with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Vijayawada divisional office), is organising a special programme to mark World Environment Day on June 5. As part of the initiative, 1,000 saplings will be distributed to customers at 10 IOCL fuel stations in the city.

K. Ashok Kumar, District Forest Officer (Social Forestry), will inaugurate the programme at Krishna District Lorry Owners’ Mutually Aided Co-operative Stores Limited petrol station at Ganguru at 9.30 a.m. IOCL Chief Divisional Retail Sales Manager P. Kumarvel will participate, according to a press release.
