June 03, 2014 11:17 pm | Updated 11:17 pm IST - MACHILIPATNAM:

TDP Krishna district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Tuesday said the Congress had inaugurated the Pulichintala irrigation project even before several works on the site were completed. Speaking to reporters here, he said measures were being taken on a war footing to complete pending works.

“Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu will address the issue of completion of the Pulichintala project soon after he assumes office,” Mr. Umamaheswara Rao added. On the ongoing modernisation works of irrigation canals in Krishna district, the TDP leader alleged that the Congress had failed to complete them within the stipulated period.

Machilipatnam MLA Kollu Raveendra, who met Krishna District Collector M. Raghunandan Rao to discuss the status of the proposed deep sea port at Machilipatnam, said the State government would look into the report on ‘revised land acquisition and estimated cost required for it’. Senior leaders Konakalla Bullaiah and party leaders also spoke on several developmental issues related to Machilipatnam town.
