Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jatti on Friday gifted athletes from deprived backgrounds spike shoes, exhorting them to earn a name for the district.
At a function at the district police office, the shoes were gifted to students Razia Begum, Manoj Kumar, Venkatasiva, Bharat, Keshav, S. Basha, Venkateswarlu and Chandrasekhar, who hailed from rural areas and practised athletics and pole vault at the Kurnool Outdoor Stadium.
