: A team of the BJP led by its city president D. Umamaheswara Raju and former MLA Vellampalli Srinivas inspected the Kanaka Durga flyover work here on Friday. They found fault with the delay in construction of the six-lane flyover and held Soma Developers responsible for it.

On the occasion, Mr. Umamaheswara Raju said the contract with Soma Developers is due to expire by December 28 and going by the current pace of works, only pillars are likely to be completed by that date whereas the district administration wanted it to be ready for Krishna Pushkaram.

He pointed out that the Collector Babu A. suggested to the company to deploy more engineers and skilled workers to complete the project at the earliest but his advice was ignored.

Mr. Srinivas said an approach road should be laid for facilitating free flow of traffic from Bhavanipuram, Vidyadharapuram and Hyderabad, while the flyover construction took place.

BJP leaders K.S. Armugam, B. Sriram, T. Sivanageswara Rao, M. Subbaiah and Adapa Nagendram were among those who made the field visit.
